Summit Theatre Project (STP) is excited to share its vision and join with the already thriving Anchorage theatre community. Valuing and showcasing Alaskan acting talent, encouraging collaboration with professional artists from outside our state, providing educational opportunities for youth through adult actors and (of course!) producing theatrical experiences of the highest calibre for our guests.

During our closing week, we brought THE BEAR to the folks at the Kenai Senior Center and to the residents at Heritage Place in Soldotna. Summit’s mission is to bring professional theatre to communities in Alaska with limited access.

Thank you to these locations for letting us do a test run of what we hope to bring to audiences across the state.

🐻MEET THE CAST!🪓 James Arthel Reilly brings a quiet (and not so quiet!) intensity to THE BEAR and ON THE HIGH ROAD!

James Arthel Reilly is an actor and educator from Lancaster County, PA. He is delighted to be in community with some of his dearest friends doing what he loves most and thrilled to make his Alaskan theatre debut. James has been humbled to be a part of the vibrant arts communities in Lancaster, Philadelphia, Chicago, Wisconsin, Florida, and now Anchorage. Select theatre credits: THE MOUSETRAP (Giles Ralston), SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE FINAL ADVENTURE (Moriarty), THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW (Ichabod Crane), HENRY V (Dauphin). Film/TV: Chicago P.D. (NBCUniversal). James holds an MFA in Acting from Northern Illinois University.

💍MEET THE CAST!🪓 Kaitlyn Cheng brings both fiery energy and charm to our tales. 😉 Treat yourself by catching both her performances in THE PROPOSAL and ON THE HIGH ROAD!

Kaitlyn Cheng is an actor and educator originally from the Bay Area, and after a brief stint in Chicago, now resides in Philadelphia. Kaitlyn has had the extreme pleasure to work in several states and theaters across the country and is thrilled to explore Alaska and the Anchorage theater scene. She is grateful to work alongside this generous, hilarious group. She has worked previously with Theater Mu, the largest Asian American theater in the Midwest and the second largest in the country, in the world premiere of HELLS CANYON. In Philadelphia, she worked with Hedgerow Theatre on the U.S. premiere of NORA: A DOLL'S HOUSE, playing the titular role. Select Credits: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Hedgerow Theatre Company), CLUE, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME (WV Public Theatre), TITLE X (Artemisia Theatre). 🪓MEET THE CAST!🪓 @kmschwarting Krista M. Schwarting brings a regal precision to the eye of the storm in ON THE HIGH ROAD!

Krista M. Schwarting's recent performances include CALIFORNIA SUITE (Millie Michaels), OUR TOWN (The Stage Manager), TWELFTH NIGHT (Olivia) and TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS (Dear Sugar/Cheryl Strayed). A frequent director, her recent projects include ACT's WAIT UNTIL DARK and Cyrano's productions of THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP and THE WICKHAMS: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY. She can next be seen onstage for the West Coast premiere of DEAR CAMP at ACT. Krista holds a Consent-Forward Artist certification from IDC and is an associate member of the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society.

🪓MEET THE CAST!🪓 Kevin Keith brings the presence and the power of a storm to ON THE HIGH ROAD!

Kevin has been very active in the Anchorage theatre community since 2018 and is pleased to be a part of Summit Theatre Project’s inaugural production. Earlier this year, he directed ALABAMA STORY (Anchorage Community Theatre) and was onstage in SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY (TBA Theatre), which also featured Jasper Davis. Favorite recent roles include Benedick in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (TBA Theatre), Orgon in TARTUFFE (Cyrano’s Theatre Company), and The Crooked Man in MOTHER GOOSE ON THE LOOSE (TBA Theatre), which toured to the Edmonton Fringe Festival in 2024 with Zoë Katharine starring as the sheep. He is the proud parent of Jasper and Zoë.

🐻MEET THE CAST!🪓Jason Souza brings big laughs to THE BEAR and ON THE HIGH ROAD! @uteguy14

Jason Souza is delighted for the opportunity to work with Summit Theatre Project. Although he has performed in church dramas in Anchorage for many years, this will be his first performance in a professional production. He is a co-pastor at Christ Community Church, Alaska. Jason enjoys spending time with family and friends, stories (books, movies, television, coffee & fireside conversations, etc.), and hiking.

While this might be Jason's first ride, you'll quickly see why we hope it isn't his last!

🐻MEET THE CAST!🪓 Annika Merkel brings both feisty passion and gentle charm to her work in THE BEAR and ON THE HIGH ROAD!

Annika is a local performer, music director, and audition coach. She was recently seen in Cyrano's production of CABARET as Fraulein Schneider and ACT's MATILDA as Mrs. Wormwood. This season she also music directed the musicals at Myrnas--THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and THE WIZARD OF OZ. She looks forward to music directing THE ADDAMS FAMILY (ACT) and performing in OUTSIDE MULLINGAR (Cyrano's) this fall. She is excited and honored to be a part of STP's inaugural production!

Emily Hartley is very honored to join Summit Theatre Project for the inaugural production! Last year, Emily had the opportunity to perform in two musicals at Mad Myrna’s theatre: In the spring, she starred as the villainess “Caiaphas” in an all-female production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. And in the fall, Emily played her dream role of “Riff Raff” in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. Most recently, she was spotted on the Cyrano’s stage portraying “Helga” in CABARET, and the sassy stagehand for Myrna’s production of THE WIZARD OF OZ. Emily would like to thank you with her whole Hartley heart for supporting STP’s first show of many!

💍MEET THE CAST!🪓 Anto Holiday brings wit, humor, and vibrant life to our stage in THE PROPOSAL and ON THE HIGH ROAD.

Anto Holiday (Ivan Vassilievitc Lomov, Egor Merik) is a lifelong Alaskan. His passion has been theatre since a young age and he is very happy to get to explore Chekhov! You may have seen him as Emcee in CTC’s production of Cabaret, performed earlier this year. Other favorite roles include Galahad (and others!) in Spamalot! Performed at UAA, Mark in Rent with TAU, and Tooker in Summerland with CTC. When not on the stage, you can find Anto in the mountains, in a brewery, or spending quality time with loved ones.
